My name is Jean Neptune, I was born a Roman Catholic but I lost all desire of being a Christian and after my graduation from High school I was no longer connected to any church or religious belief. By that time I made my decision to become a soldier and went to military Academy for three years. The last year of my military training I had a strange dream unfortunately I forgot the long part of that dream and the only part of the dream I could remember was that Two people met with me, one of them was named Richard and I did not know the name of the second person of the dream but he was the translator of Richard. The Translator told me that they had a very important message which will change my life forever. I woke up scared and called my Dad to ask him if he knew anything about a certain Richard and my dad said no.

After my graduation from the military academy I went to China for a special training as an officer, God was away from my mind. When I came back to Congo I was assigned to Mbanza Ngungu military base as a trainer. There I met with a Captain named Richard and this first Richard was a Pentecostal Christian who started to give me Bible studies but he did not convince me with his teachings. I said this is not the Richard of my dream since he does not have a translator.

One Morning I woke up once again scared with a small voice asking me about the meaning of my life. I lost my peace and decided to find a quiet place where I could think about the meaning of life. A colleague suggested to me a guest house where I went to spend quiet hours thinking about my life. I ordered a beer and was drinking. While thinking, a White lady came in and stayed in front of my table looking at me like somebody who had a special message for me. A few moments a black man joined the lady and the two were looking at me as if they wanted to talk to me. I finally decided to approach them if they knew me, they said they were missionaries and the White lady invited me to attend a seminar and the black man translating offered a brochure to me and the brochure was telling about the “greatest need of every person.” They gave me indication about the venue and time for the meeting. The white lady was friendly and told me her name is Karolyn Leonard. I read the brochure and was touched by the message about Jesus. When I went back home I received a second invitation from a colleague soldier, Jean de Dieu Imani to attend a religious seminar. I decided to go and was surprised to see the White lady who invited me before. I also saw the black man whom I met before translating for a preacher named Richard. As I was listening to the sermon my mind recalled the dream of Richard and a translator, the sermon was powerful and I decided to give my life to Jesus that very day.

After the sermon I went to share with Karolyn and she recommended that I should go to Pastor Ongasa for a Bible study. Pastor Ongasa gave me an appointment for a Bible study at the guest house where we met before, I went there and Pastor Ongasa told me more about Jesus. We became good friends I decided to become a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. Karolyn donated a Bible to me and after three weeks of Bible studies I decided to be baptized. I learned to return tithe to the church and I was so happy to give my tithe for the first time to the Mbanza ngungu SDA Church. I felt blessed to do so. Pastor Ongasa invited me to Kinshasa where he baptized me on July 15, 2017. My life has been transformed and I am happy to share my faith with others it is my plan to become a Chaplain in the Congolese army. I need your prayers as I am thinking about how to be trained as an Adventist Chaplain.
