Yusuf was born in the Islamic faith. He lives in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a 47 years old man married who has one wife and 6 children. He is form the Shi tribe, one of the non-reached tribes. The Shi tribe forms 40% of the 8 Million population of the South Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Brother Yusuf knew nothing about the Seventh -day Adventist message until July of 2012 when he met Dr. Williams doing a medical program in Bukavu. (Dr Williams is one of Train Them 2 Fish’s volunteer medical missionaries living in USA). Yusuf was amazed to see people from the USA offering medical treatments for free. He was informed that they were missionaries doing evangelism in Bukavu. He accepted the invitation to attend evangelistic meetings that very evening and was once amazed to see that Dr. Williams was the speaker of that site. Yusuf was touched by the health presentation as well as the Sabbath message that evening. Then he decided to know more about Jesus and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was referred to Pastor Ongasa for Bible Studies.
Six months later, Yusuf was invited to attend Camp Meetings in the city of Bukavu. He decided to give his life to Jesus and was baptized. Yusuf went back to his home village with a new Bible given by Train Them 2 Fish. He started to talk to people about his new faith and many people were interested. Since Yusuf was not yet well grounded on the faith, he requested for a bible worker to be sent to his village, Mulamba 70 Km away from Bukavu.
Train Them 2 Fish agreed to support one married Bible worker at Mulamba. As soon as the bible Worker arrived there, he discovered that there were too many orphans since that region was affected by war. There are 13 baptized believers at Mulamba village and TT2F is sponsoring 22 orphans as well.
