Zawadi is a 24 year old young lady, member of Ibanda SDA Church in Congo. Her father is disabled and the mother is very poor so the family could not send that young lady to school. By the time TT2F met with Zawadi in 2012, she could not read or write even her own name. Zawadi was hopeless and was living with a non-Adventist family looking after a baby of that family. Her time to attend church was limited but she loves to sing even if she could not read.

Zawadi was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the scholarship program offered by Train Them 2 Fish. She is now following an andragogy program offered by Roman Catholics in Bukavu. She is now able to read and write properly. She is also combining the sewing program along with her education. Zawadi will get her certificate in 2015 and she plans to continue with sewing training so that she may serve as a trainer at the TT2F Sewing center.

Considering that illiteracy is a large problem in the Democratic Republic of Congo as 73% of men and 76% of women are considered to be illiterate; Train Them 2 Fish wishes to contribute in assisting people in Congo to get out of the illiteracy issue.

Thank you for helping TT2F to share God’s love in addressing the illiteracy problem as one of the roots of poverty.
