The Book of Acts reports that the early church experienced explosive growth because many possessors of lands were moved by the Holy Spirit to share their properties with the Church [Acts 4:33-34]. The similar experience occurred in Bukavu, D. R. Congo.

Brother Jean was baptized with his wife at Funu, one of the sites supervised by a Bible worker sponsored by Train Them 2 Fish in the D. R. of Congo. As soon as Jean’s family was baptized, they told the Bible worker Makelele that they urgently wanted the message of Christ’s second coming to reach their home village.

Jean pressed the Bible Worker and said: “I’ll not allow any excuse for this goal not to happen. That is why my wife and I decided to donate a piece of land to build a church, so come as soon as you can to bring the Gospel message to my home village.”

Two weeks later, Jean went to his home village to announce that he had been baptized and wanted the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to reach out to his village. They had a family meeting with his mother, and his young brothers. From that meeting, a plot of land has been donated for a SDA Church building at Bugogo village, located about 50 minutes away from Bukavu City. This was reported to be the first experience of a land donation at the Bukavu area.

There is a need for One Bible Worker to be sent to Bugogo village to plant a new church and open the Gospel message to the people.
