In his Second letter to the Thessalonians, Paul recommends this:

“Mind your own business, and earn your own living, as we told you before. If you do these things, then those who are not believers will respect the way you live. And you will not have to depend on others for what you need.” [1 Thess. 4:11-12, Easy-to-Read Version.]

Train Them 2 Fish aims to help church members in Africa to achieve the above biblical recommendation since most people are living below the level of poverty. When people from a background of poverty accept Jesus, they seem to become a burden to the church depending on other members for their needs.

A Lady called Mapendo accepted Jesus and was baptized at Bagira, a rural area in the Eastern D R Congo. She is a single mother of 6 children. She said that she was depending on prostitution for the needs of her family and most of her kids were born that way. After her baptism, Train Them 2 Fish invited her to attend the sewing training center, after a six months training course she will be given a sewing machine to start her own business. Meanwhile she received a donation of $ 100 USD invested in charcoal business.

Train Them 2 Fish is also involved in training other people in basket making in Bukavu. With the acquired skills from this school, one can make $1.5 USD per day to live by.

Thank you for assisting TT2F to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
